We keep this straightforward: SharkTypers uses account, race, payment, and reliability data to run the game and improve the experience.
If you register for SharkTypers, we collect the basics needed to run your account, such as your username and email address.
Guest play can use temporary browser storage so the game can remember short-term choices, like a guest shark color or session state.
To make races, profiles, rewards, and leaderboards work, we store gameplay stats, progress, race results, leaderboard data, cosmetics, Shark Teeth balances, account progression, achievements, and reef activity.
Stripe handles payment processing for SharkTypers purchases. Stripe receives the payment details needed to complete a purchase; SharkTypers does not store full credit card numbers or full card security details on our servers.
Analytics, performance, and error-reporting tools help us understand what is working, fix bugs, and keep the game stable. The current codebase includes PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error monitoring when those services are configured.
Cookies, local storage, and session storage may be used for login sessions, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and temporary game state. Some of this storage is required for account and game features to work properly.
We use information to run SharkTypers, save progress, show leaderboards and profiles, process purchases, prevent abuse, improve balance, debug errors, and protect accounts.
SharkTypers is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact support so we can review and remove it if necessary.
